YSS Announces New Board Members

YSS is pleased to welcome three new board members. Stacey McDonald and William Underwood have joined the Corporate Board of Directors, and Suzanna de Baca is serving on the Foundation Board of Trustees.

Stacey McDonald is the design studio & staging manager for Hubbell Homes. Born and raised in northwest Iowa, she received her degree from the University of Northern Iowa. She loves everything design related and spends her days guiding buyers through the new home construction process and staging homes going on the market.

Stacey was drawn to YSS because of her desire to help others. In particular, she understands that housing accessibility, stability, and design can have a profound impact on young people. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve in such a wonderful organization. I believe strongly in YSS’s mission and respect the organization’s very long-standing history in the community.”

William Underwood is the co-founder of Ascension Ag, a leading manufacturer of livestock biosecurity products and solutions headquartered in Nevada. William is responsible for operations and oversees the manufacturing team at the company.

A native of Ames, William graduated from Iowa State University. In his free time, Williams enjoys traveling, spending time with family, and supporting Iowa State athletics. “Growing up in the Ames community, I have a deep appreciation for the positive impact YSS has on Central Iowa. I am thrilled to be able to contribute to such a fantastic organization.”

Suzanna de Baca is president and CEO of Business Publications Corporation (BPC), an award-winning, Iowa-based media company that serves the business, cultural, and philanthropic communities. Prior to joining BPC, she was president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of the Heartland.

With extensive executive leadership experience in financial services, health care, and media, she has been featured in publications including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Washington Post, Time Magazine, US News & World Report, Forbes, MSNBC, and CNBC. Suzanna earned her bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
