AMP teaches life skills that youth needs to become healthy independent young adults. AMP councils offer peer-to-peer understanding, support, encouragement, service learning projects and leadership opportunities. Families are home together more than usual, and YSS has received questions about what every parent thinks about, “the talk.” Parents want to be receptive to open conversations with their kids and are seeking resources to help. To support parents with this information, our first “YSS Let’s Talk” series will be focused on “healthy sexuality” including science-based, medically accurate comprehensive sexual health information. When armed with factual information, adolescents are more likely to make responsible choices regarding their personal behavior.
