YSS is pleased to welcome Stu Sherman to its Community Engagement Team as the new Development Director, primarily serving the Des Moines area. With an accomplished background in advancement and development, Sherman brings a wealth of experience and a passion for fundraising to One of Iowa’s oldest and largest youth-serving nonprofit organizations.
Before joining YSS, Stu Sherman was an advancement officer at Drake University, where he managed 150 portfolios and served as a liaison to the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, playing a key role in their fundraising efforts. Prior to that, Sherman had a 17-year tenure as the Senior Director of Development at Graceland University.
In his new role as Development Director at YSS, Stu will focus on driving fundraising initiatives to support YSS’s operational goals.
Outside of his professional achievements, Stu enjoys spending quality time with his family – including his wife, four children, and two grandchildren. As a Kansas City native, he is an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, always cheering them on in his free time.
