Sarina Flathers Named ‘FUEL 4 Under 40’ by Ames Chamber of Commerce

Sarina Flathers, YSS Community Engagement Coordinator, was named a recipient of the “FUEL 4 Under 40” award by the Ames Chamber of Commerce. She was honored along with other award winners at the chamber’s annual awards ceremony Jan. 26.

“Sarina is passionate about building relationships and bridging the community together,” said Sabrina Ahmed Zenor, emcee for the event. “She embodies this with her volunteerism and her involvement in organizations.”

Sarina has been with YSS for seven years, serving the nonprofit in a variety of roles. Most recently, Sarina is part of the Community Engagement team, where she builds relationships with people and businesses, connects donors with ways to give back, and shares YSS’s impact with the community.

In addition, Sarina is involved in the community as an Ames Chamber Ambassador, is part of the Ames Business Solutions Group, and was selected for the Leadership Ames Class of 2023.

The awards represent the combined efforts of the Ames Chamber of Commerce and its affiliate organizations that include the Ames Economic Development Commission, Ames Main Street, FUEL, Ames Seed Capital, and The Ames Foundation.

YSS staff were in attendance to support Sarina at the event.
