Samantha is a mental health therapist at Iowa Homeless Youth Centers in Des Moines. She is passionate about the work she does with transition-age youth (ages 16-25) who are at-risk or currently experiencing homelessness, living in poverty and/or experiencing other vulnerabilities. She is a certified LGBTQ+ Affirmative psychotherapy provider and has experience treating individuals with a wide variety of mental health and/or substance abuse diagnoses. Samantha has been trained in Motivational Enhancement Therapy/Cognitive Behavior Therapy (MET/CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) , Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
