At YSS Family Counseling Clinic, we provide a skilled and experienced team of professionals to serve you and your family. Our providers are trained in a wide variety of therapeutic approaches and we see clients of all ages from anywhere in the state.


Individual and Family Focused Care

Experts at the YSS Family Counseling Clinic have extensive education, training and experience in a wide variety of proven treatment approaches designed to meet the unique needs of each individual. What makes us unique is our focus on serving children, youth and young adults, working with them and their families to heal and find hope.

Psychiatric Consultation

Evaluation, assessment and diagnosis is provided to guide treatment. When appropriate, medication management is available using prescribed medication as a tool to address behavioral and mental health disorders.

Behavioral Health Intervention Services (BHIS)

BHIS is a Medicaid-funded program that teaches youth and their families helpful skills to positively address the child’s behaviors, including anger management, conflict resolution, social skills, communication and problem solving.

Integrated Health Services (IHS)

Through care coordination, the IHS program connects families with resources to help their child be successful at home, school, and in the community. Families are partnered with a team of professionals to ensure their child is receiving the necessary care for their physical, behavioral, and mental health needs.

Substance Use Counseling

Substance use counselors provide assessment and ongoing individual and group counseling to adolescents, young adults, and adults struggling with substance use disorders. Services provided:

  • Substance use evaluations
  • Individual substance use counseling
  • OWI Evaluations - Operating a moving vehicle while intoxicated. These evaluations are typically ordered as the result of legal involvement.

Mental Health Therapy

Our experts provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to help focus and direct treatment toward positive mental health and behavioral outcomes. Therapy is offered to individuals, couples, families, and groups.

Access and Visitation Program

For the benefit of children whose families are involved in a separation or divorce, YSS provides mediation and visitation counseling. Our staff will assist in allowing the non-custodial parent to spend time with their child in a monitored environment. Specialty Interventions

The YSS Family Counseling Clinic creates a welcoming environment built on trust and confidentiality for our clients. Treatment services are tailored to meet each family’s unique needs.


Play Therapy

Through working with children in their natural language of play, this specialty helps a child develop decision making and coping skills, responsibility and self-control.

Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)

PCIT is designed for families of young children with: disruptive behavior disorders, experiencing family disruptions, developmental delays, or at high risk for child abuse.

Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)

Treating children and youth who have experienced trauma, TF-CBT helps both the child and parent address the behavioral and emotional consequences of traumatic experiences.

Multi-Dimensional Family Therapy (MDFT)

YSS offers Multidimensional Family Therapy (MDFT) for youth who are struggling with addiction – or are at risk for addiction – and are experiencing behavioral issues. This comprehensive, family-centered treatment approach is goal-oriented, and focuses on all of the relationships that may influence teens.  For more information about MDFT, visit

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR therapy is a non-invasive, evidence-based intervention that facilitates adaptive information processing.  Through EMDR therapy, clients are able to reprocess traumatic information until it is no longer psychologically disruptive.

STEPPS - Systems Training for Emotional Predictability and Problem Solving

Intensive Outpatient Program for Substance Users
