Inspiring Learning

Children have a voice and choice at Kids Club, providing input about which subjects they learn.

Centers: Our environment is designed to allow space for arts, crafts, dramatic play, games and building activities.

Academic Enrichment: Staff and America Reads/America Counts tutors provide children with the support needed to complete homework and improve academics.

The Great Outdoors: Weather permitting, children spend time outdoors stretching their legs, having fun and getting the fresh air they need.

Snacks: Nutritious snacks are served every afternoon, providing healthy energy for growing children. Snacks are nut free.

Community Connection: We offer fun and educational guest speakers to enhance monthly themes. Children expand their leadership skills and give back to the community by completing service learning projects.

Program Evaluation

Research shows children involved in afterschool programs have increased self-esteem, and personal, social and academic skills. At Kids Club, we want to ensure our program supports these benefits for the children we serve. We use several evaluation tools for measurement.

  • Child Survey: Children complete a survey at the beginning and end of the school year. This survey is based off the Search Institute’s, “40 Development Assets.” Students rate themselves on self-perception, getting along with friends, learning at school and more.
  • Teacher Survey: A survey is provided to teachers at the beginning and end of the school year for each student involved with Kids Club. Information about each student’s academic achievement and attitude/behavior is collected.
  • Parent Survey: At the end of the school year, parents are asked to complete a satisfaction survey. We also encourage them to provide ideas to help strengthen the Kids Club program.
