YSS is seeking a part-time Teen Club Facilitator for our Colo location. The Teen Club Facilitator will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, planning, scheduling, and programming for after school services at the assigned school.  Program target populations range from sixth grade through eighth grade.  The program operates each day after school, but does not operate on teacher in-service days, no school days, during winter and spring breaks, or during summer.
The Teen Club Facilitator is also responsible for working with the Coordinator in scheduling, supervising, and evaluating paid after school staff and volunteers in order to help make the experience worthwhile, safe, and educational for the volunteers, staff, and participants.


  • A Bachelor’s degree or Associate of Arts degree in child development, education, or related field is required. A certificate as a Prevention Specialist is required after 24 months of full-time employment.
  • Experience working with middle school-aged youth is required.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Formulate, communicate and implement intervention strategies.
  • Assess youth needs and ensure planning efficiently addresses those needs.
  • Conceptualize the interests of participants and families.
  • Maintain control of participants in individual and group settings.
  • Lead and participate in any youth recreational activities.
  • Responsible for day-to-day operation of the after school program at designated site.
  • Performs teaching duties on a daily basis, providing leadership to other after school program staff.
  • Insures staff coverage and scheduling.
  • Handles day-to-day routine matters.
  • Implements Teen Outreach Program Curriculum. This includes lessons and community service with the youth.
  • Arrives and sets up prior to start of the program. Remains until all participants have left and supplies are put away.
  • Directly supervises youth in the after school program and coordinates with community resources scheduled to provide recreational and educational activities for participants.
  • Meets with supervisor biweekly for guidance and to develop a personal development plan for each group.
  • Plans and implements the activities for regular day program. These activities should focus on meeting goals and objectives for each group.
  • Greets parents with courtesy and fields questions.
  • Helps prepare and serve nutritious snacks.
  • Ensures that youth check-in and check out of the program and that only authorized parents/guardians pick up the youth.
  • Completes incident reports as necessary.
  • Observes discipline policy, records participant behavior keeps files current.
  • Maintains a clean facility, equipment, and supplies.
  • Administers assessments to participating youth.
  • Implements opportunities in which youth participate in community learning projects.
  • Maintains good working relationships with school personnel, janitors, secretaries, and parents.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Attends program staff meetings and training.
  • Maintains site-specific records.
  • Recruits youth and families to participate in the after-school program.
  • Maintains program quality standards.
  • Conducts supervision with and provides evaluation for YSS staff as assigned.
  • Adhere to agency policies and procedures; including completing forms and all required paperwork in a timely manner.
