Summer Enrichment is a free six week program offered to youth in Ames, Nevada, and Collins-Maxwell to support them during the summer months, May-July/August. The program focuses on activities that are both fun and educational. It is an excellent opportunity to keep youth engaged over the summer while also providing at least one meal per day.


Ames: Grades K-4; times TBD Monday-Thursday
Nevada: Grades EK-8; 8:00a.m.-1:00p.m. Monday-Thursday
Collins-Maxwell: Grades K-8; 8:00a.m.-1:00p.m. Monday-Thursday

Essential Duties:
  • Work at assigned site
  • Have opportunities to implement activities and games
  • Interact positively with youth and their families while on-site
  • Assist with curriculum
  • Be an extra hand for the site supervisor
    • Will learn how to assist with behaviors
    • Will assist with the behind the scenes reporting and data tracking
  • Experience with youth preferred
  • College student/graduate preferred
  • Must be 18 or older
Training & Supervision:
  • Must attend an orientation to cover YSS policies regarding confidentiality, drug-free work environment, and child abuse reporting
  • Report to Site Supervisors as needed
  • Attend staff meetings and other related agency meetings when appropriate
  • Must obtain First Aid and CPR certification (offered through YSS)
  • Must attend Mandatory Reporting of Child Abuse Training (offered online through YSS)
Time Commitment/Requirements:
  • A minimum of 20 hours per week
  • Must report hours to Volunteer Coordinator weekly
