The Self-Sufficiency Advocate will provide services to youth in Hamilton County in accordance with the Iowa Aftercare Services Network grant to youth who have aged out of foster care or left foster care between the ages of 17 1/2 and 18 after placement in a foster care setting. Services address the needs of the target population related to self-sufficiency through case management, advocacy, and coordination and linkage to appropriate resources. The Self-Sufficiency Advocate's primary function is, in partnership with each youth, to build bridges between youth and adult services and to ensure a successful transition from foster care into self-sufficient adulthood.

This position covers Hamilton, Hardin, Franklin, Wright, Humboldt, Webster, Pocahontas, Calhoun, Buena Vista, and Sac counties.

A Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field is required.

Two years of experience in direct human services work with high risk youth or young adults and one year of experience in case management/advocacy is required.
