The Residential Client Specialist’s primary responsibilities include the daily management of the client schedule, client activities (including group management and facilitation), and helping to meet client’s daily needs.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/equivalent is required.
  • Must have served as a Youth Recovery Specialist for at least six months or comparable human services related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related human service field is preferred.
  • Two years of human services related experience is preferred.
Responsibilities:
    1. Relates to clients in a caring, supportive, and therapeutic manner.
    2. Ensures that the daily/weekly client schedules are complete including mealtimes, school, groups, wellness, etc.
    3. Helps plan and carry out group activities.
    4. Ensures clients are placed in appropriate bedrooms and oversees any necessary room changes along with any necessary room and/or client searches.
    5. Ensures, along with Advocate, that client property is maintained at the YSS standard and that all other property is removed in a timely manner.
    6. Ensures an adequate supply of bedding and basic toiletries for clients who are in need.
    7. Consistently observes limits and consequences and sees that they are consistently carried out.
    8. Enforces rules and procedures as established in all YSS materials.
    9. Participates in weekly client petitions along with the client’s therapist.
    10. Ensures that client’s needs are being met through the proper request process and maintains communication with internal and external resources (partnership with clinical and other leadership staff).
    11. Ensures with residential leadership the daily completion of overall daily client documentation.
    12. Follows appropriate procedures for scheduling, fund management, and communication of key issues.
    13. Communicates with client family members and workers as needed.
    14. Assists in maintaining cleanliness of all YSS residential property as needed.
    15. Partners with other leadership staff in fulfilling necessary duties for YSS.
    16. Responsible for all special needs planning:  birthdays, graduations, etc.
    17. Works in partnership with leadership team to fulfill various other duties when necessary.
    18. Adheres to agency and accepted professional ethics.
    19. Will be part of an on-call rotation for client support.
    20. Will maintain medication manager training, CPR/First Aid certification, and Mandt certification.
