The Community-Based Mentoring Program Facilitator will support the expansion of the YSS Community-Based Mentoring Program. The Facilitator will work directly with YSS staff and community partners to identify children and youth to participate as mentees, schedule mentor visits, and monitor and evaluate progress of matches. The Facilitator will communicate with parents/legal guardians, caseworkers, and YSS staff to obtain permission to participate in the program and program activities.

The Facilitator will be responsible for recruiting, screening, training, and familiarizing mentees and mentors with the program. They will match mentors with mentees based on personality, interests, and availability, and will be responsible for ongoing support and evaluation of the program. This Facilitator is also responsible for maintaining records through online databases and supporting grant requirements and reporting.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, child development or related field or equivalent experience is required.
  • Two years of experience performing similar or related job duties.
  • Experience with public speaking and working with volunteers.
  • Experience working with children in a school setting and/or direct service of high risk youth is preferred.
