YSS and GreenState Announce Partnership at Sixth Avenue Flats

YSS is partnering with GreenState Credit Union to bring much-needed services to the River Bend neighborhood in Des Moines.

As part of the partnership, GreenState is sponsoring the build-out of YSS’s space in Sixth Avenue Flats, a new affordable housing project that recently opened in Des Moines. A portion of the apartments will be reserved for YSS youth who have aged out of the foster care system and are experiencing homelessness.

YSS will utilize its on-site office space to offer support for the Sixth Avenue Flats residents, as well as outpatient counseling services to families and individuals in the surrounding community. In addition, GreenState will provide financial services.

Together, these essential services will fill a gap in the neighborhood.

Sixth Avenue Flats apartments officially opened in summer 2023. The YSS office space is under development with plans to open later this year.
