YSS Covid-19 Response Fund

As with many individuals, families and businesses, the Covid-19 situation has caused significant challenges for YSS and the clients we serve. We know this has personally affected you as well, and we stand alongside you in this difficult time. We are grateful for our community support and many of you have asked how you can help YSS at this time.

With programs being cancelled, schools closed, and “social distancing,” the ability for YSS to provide our mission-driven programs and services has been significantly disrupted. This is challenging for the kids and families we serve, as well as our dedicated staff team.

For example, in addition to therapy services, our case management services are now being done via video conference as well. While many of our foster and homeless youth have cell phones, many don’t have and can’t afford data plans. And given the COVID-19 situation, many of the traditional free public Wi-Fi/hotspots like libraries and coffee shops are no longer open, so we’re having a more difficult time staying connected.

Any gift to the COVID-19 Fund is appreciated as we recognize the challenges so many of you face.  However, we’re hopeful 100 people will support our Keeping Kids Connected campaign and commit $50/month to help support data plans for transition-aged foster and homeless youth to stay connected to their YSS Self-Sufficiency Advocate and therapist so they can continue along their journey to independence.

Once again, we understand this situation has affected you as well. If you happen to be in a position to offer any additional financial support to YSS at this time, be it $10 or $1000, we would greatly appreciate your contribution.

Thank you for your consideration as a valued friend to YSS. Certainly times like this only increase the need for quality mental health services provided by YSS, and we are committed to meeting that challenge. Together, as a community, we will get through this difficult time.
