Meet the Team: Anna Gonzalez

Anna Gonzalez is the Residential Operations Coordinator for Ember Recovery, and has worked at YSS for six years, five of those years being in her current position. Anna started at YSS as a Youth Recovery Specialist and was promoted to a Client Specialist before applying for the Residential Operations Coordinator position.

“I love working for an organization that I know is going to take care of their employees.”

Anna’s responsibilities as the Residential Operations Coordinator include staff hiring, staff supervision, staff training, staff schedule, and overall taking care of all the direct care staff from hire throughout their time at YSS.

Anna says that one of her favorite parts about her job is training employees, from general training to strengthening families, as well as Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST). She also loves being able to see each employee grow within their career to better help youth at Ember.

“I really enjoy seeing staff members grow and make connections for how they can help our clients better. The more our staff is equipped and prepared, the more our clients can grow and be focused on their recovery.”

Anna grew up in Boone. She attended Palm Beach Atlantic University and majored in biblical and theological studies. During her time at college, Anna realized her true calling in life. After experiences with her foster sister and learning more about mental health and addiction, she decided to add a psychology minor.

“I think what motivates me is that I get to work for an organization that I know puts client needs above everything. I know that YSS is willing to take a hard look at things and change them in order to better serve youth.”

In her free time, Anna enjoys spending time with her children, going to any and every activity they can. Thank you for everything you do for Ember Recovery, Anna!
